Sisters' Weekend 2011

Happy leap day! It's the perfect day for a blog post! Here it goes:
Did you know that I have the coolest sisters on this planet?! Well, I do! Because my two sisters and I don't live in the same town (or state or country), we set aside a special weekend annually to get together and laugh, hang out, eat, shop, play, sight see...you name it. It's just the three of us having fun doing whatever we want to do. This has become a really fun tradition we have titled "Sisters' Weekend." Since I've moved to Germany, "weekend" has become a 10-day vacation in Germany in 2010, and a 24-hour period in 2011.
Every year is fun and something different. One year we went to a city none of us had been to and stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights. Last year we decided to enjoy Emily's new house (she bought in January 2011) and run a 5K. The 3 pictures are pre-race at Emily's house, pre-race at the race site, and post-race.
Running the 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) race is something I had never done, and neither had Julie. Emily has been awesome in this way a bit longer than we have, but we're catching on. It was something we wanted to do together--a goal to reach together and something that would strengthen our bond as sisters. Sounds a little corny, but it's still true.
Unfortunately, the race people didn't take pictures of Emily other than the ones she is in with me. Here is a link to official race photos:

Sisters' Weekend 2011 is now in the past and that means Sisters' Weekend 2012 is ready to be written! In case you're wondering, we had a fantastic time this year too! Stay tuned...
